‘’Schoonheidsfoutjes’’ is an ongoing zine series in which I explore the journey toward self-acceptance through illustration and design. Each edition zooms in on a different beauty ideal — and the insecurities that often come with it.

This issue focuses on something many young people struggle with: having a "big nose."

In a time when social media distorts our perception of beauty, more and more young people are influenced by unrealistic standards and turn to plastic surgery as a so-called quick fix. But rather than offering real confidence, this only leads to higher expectations and deeper insecurities.

This zine offers a colorful, playfully designed counterpoint — inviting young people to see themselves through a kinder, more honest lens.
